Residential hedge in Lake Elsinore
New house in new housing development. Owner wanted a tall see-through screen alongside new wall. We built a concrete trench to control the rhizomes and installed Phyllostachys bambusoides (Japanese timber bamboo). From 2003 to 2005 the owner used an existing sprinkler watering system aimed at the bamboo twice a day for 15 minutes each time. Several canes aborted in March of 2005 so I feel the plants were not getting enough water in the spring of 2005.
