Mixed border in Mar Vista

Bambusa oldhamii (Tropical timber bamboo), Phyllostachys aurea (Golden bamboo), Otatea aztecorum (Mexican weeping bamboo.  Owner designed, specified, installed plants and watering system.  They installed plastic barrier around the golden bamboo with a lava rock bottom and a simple, inexpensive drip irrigation system with no timer which waters the plants constantly 24 hours a day, every day. (Turned on in March and turned off in October)  They used thin spaghetti tubing as a main, instead of a larger tube and the plants began to look too dry in 2005.  Also the golden bamboo began to penetrate the plastic barrier near the surface in 2005.  I thinned out his oldhamii with him in 2005 and recommended installing a larger water main and a concrete barrier towards their neighbors.
