Private backyard regains its privacy

Problem - a multi-story residence is built into an old neighborhood of single-story homes.  What was previously private space suddenly becomes public.  An intimate personal garden which took a lifetime to build overnight becomes a fishbowl with neighbors peeking into it day and night.  The solution - a new garden surrounded by a tall bamboo hedge.  We supplied the bamboo for the Pacific Palisades garden designed by landscape architect Laura Saltzman in 1997.
