Residence in Venice

Rental property which the owner upgraded by planting bamboo in 1996.   I wish she had asked me for some recommendations as to species and design layout.  The Bambusa multiplex alphonse karr seems to be healthy and well placed but I wonder about putting the Bambusa vulgaris vittata in such a tight location.  It might be ok if pruned down to a few large attractive canes.
