YUSHANIA ANCEPS

6' height, Shade/sun, 0 degrees F Minimum, Runner.

Leaves survive 0 degrees F., however roots & rhizomes survive down to -20 degrees F. if heavily mulched.  Canes are purple at first, later ripen to greenish yellow or brown.  One of few running mountain bamboos.  Runs vigorously with arching foliage tips.  First introduced from NW Himalayas of India in 1865, still rare plant in U.S.  Two pots imported from England by ABS in 1981.

YUSHANIA ANCEPS PITT WHITE

10' height, Shade/sun, 0 degrees F Minimum, Runner.
Doesn't look special.  Somebody created another
name.  Maybe character is only apparent in mature plant?  Said to get 30' high & have leaves 1/2 size of Anceps.
Hermine - "I want to make it clear that this plant has no pits & IS NOT WHITE."
Flowered in Europe in '80's, seedlings seem to not have same character as mothers.
