        Our plants have never grown very big.  Mature plant said to look like big Mexican weeping Bamboo, a most graceful Bamboo.  Kim Higby has proclaimed it as one of her favorites.  Canes have regularly-spaced nodes and used to make umbrella handles in its native Burma.  Grown in Thailand for edible shoots & small bamboo crafts made in rural cottage industries.  Flowers every year in Thailand.
 
        First imported by ABS in 1990.  Gallon pot sold at spring '91 sale for $35.  Nine 2 gallon pots sold at fall '92 sale for $50 each.  SCABS reference collection contained one as of 12/92.  15" pot 6' tall offered at '95 SCABS fall sale for $75 but found no buyer.
