SASA TSUBOIANA
Photo

3' height, Shade/sun, 5 degrees F Minimum.

More or less unknown runner in U.S.,
probably at least partially because name is so foreign to our tongue.  6" leaves, gets 12" high in a pot - a pleasant, healthy, vigorous plant for groundcover or pot - sort of a small Sasa palmata.  Does not do well in Southern Florida.
David Andrews in Maryland reports plant is evergreen down to 9 degrees F. & culms die to ground at 3 degrees but regrow in spring.
Native to Japan, a pot was imported from France by the ABS in 1980.
