PHYLLOSTACHYS AUREA ALBO-VARIEGATA

10' height, Shade, 5 degrees F Minimum, Runner.
Hotei chiku shima.
David Andrews in Maryland reports minor leaf damage at 9 degrees F. & culms die to the ground at 3 degrees F.
Leaves are marked with strong white stripes, giving the plant a light, delicate appearance.
Very pretty plant, healthy but not robust, likes lots of water & curls it's leaves immediately if allowed to dry out. Should be grown in shade or semi-shade, otherwise the leaves will get badly sunburned.  In 1984 a pot sold for $55 at an ABS auction.
