Haubrich keeps changing his mind about what to call
this beauty, but as my mother's cleaning lady Gert

Bamboo". In India it is used to manufacture
fishing rods & woven baskets. Before 1980
the only mature plant in the U.S. was at Inodomi
Nursery in Castro Valley, California, 25 miles south
of San Francisco. Two pots were imported from Germany
by ABS in 1981, but both plants died.
