Vigorous small shrubby bamboo with beautiful bold white & green variegated leaves.  If a competition was held for the prettiest bamboo leaves this would be one of the winners.

 

A 10 gallon pot sold at the 1988 ABS auction for $260. A 5 gallon pot was sold at the fall 1991 S.Cal.ABS sale for $30.  BUT then another 5 gallon pot with 2 2' culms sold at the September 91 N.W.ABS sale for $80 & a 1 gallon pot sold for $45.
