        Bamboo grown in Thailand, said to produce seed every year. A multipurpose green bamboo grown as a grown & harvested as a plantation crop & used for furniture construction & weaving in Java & Bali.  The culms are cleaned of dirt & fungus in a river & then soaked for 3 days in a fungicide/insecticide to prevent borer attack in the finished products. Jean Harrington had a 12' tall plant in St Pete, Fl that was killed to the ground by one night of 27 degrees in 1955 but then immediately started growing back new canes & leaves.
