- Small decorative plant introduced to the U.S.
from Japan in 1889. Thin marbled culm-sheaths which fall off & reveal cream-purple, black, silvery white culms
tipped & striped with pink & a dense growth of small leaves which are light green in sun &
emerald green in shade. Old clumps occasionally flower with no affect on the health of the plant.
Grows well & looks good in pots.

F. Has not done well in Southern Florida. A bushy beauty, not the least bit open but
