BAMBUSA NEW TULDA

Full Sun, 20 degrees F Minimum, Clumper.
Unidentified plant imported into the U.S. from Puerto Rico by Richard Haubrich in 1985.
Attractive branch pattern with many small, fine branchlets.  Easy to force foliage from culm cuttings but not easy to then produce roots & plantlets.  Jean Harrington in St Pete, Florida grew a small plant up to 18' tall densely leaved bushy plant, good for hedging or screening in only one year!  It was only minimally damaged by 1 night of 27  degrees in 1995.
