BAMBUSA FORBESII

Full Sun, 35 degrees F Minimum, Clumper.
Described by Holtuum as native to Northern Australia & New Guinea.  However, it does not look like a bambusa because it has a single branching
habit.  6" x 18" leaves.  Hard to grow.  Brought into the U.S. by Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami around 1984 & they then distributed 20-30 small plants to plant collectors & growers in the Miami area, most of which died.  Very cold sensitive, even in South Florida.  Kim Higby has 2 big mother plants & is
selling divisions for the adventurous.
