Bamboo in 15" diameter or smaller pots can be moved to full sun or have their temporary summer-time shade protection removed.  Pleioblastus may be cut down to the ground if the foliage looks ratty.  This will encourage beautiful new foliage in the spring.  Most homeowners in Southern California have now lapsed into a 4-5 month loss of interest in their gardens, only to be reawakened by the coming of spring and a realization of what garden maintenance and planning they should have been doing during the winter.
